How we review cardholder accounts

Cardholders can list a card on TradelineScore without a separate verification step first. When an order comes in, our cardholder operations team reviews the cardholder's credit card statement and account details to confirm the account meets our eligibility requirements before the order moves forward. Here is what we review, what disqualifies an account, and what happens to an order if an account does not qualify.

How the review works

1. List your card

Cardholders can list a card before its account review.

2. Order received

An order is placed for one of your listed cards.

3. Statement and account review

Our team reviews the account against our eligibility standards.

4. Proceed, replace or refund

The order moves forward if eligible. Otherwise, we cancel it and arrange a suitable replacement or provide a full refund if no suitable replacement is available.

What you submit

Cardholders normally submit their credit card statements through the TradelineScore portal. If we need more information, we ask you to email the requested documents to our team.

  • Account opening date
  • Credit limit
  • Statement date
  • Current balance and utilization
  • Whether the account is active

Our eligibility standards

Every account must meet these requirements when an order is reviewed.

  • Account age: at least 6 months. There are no exceptions, and a higher credit limit does not replace the age requirement. There is no fixed minimum credit limit.
  • Payment history: no late-payment or derogatory history, regardless of how old it is.
  • Utilization: below 10% throughout an active authorized-user placement. Exactly 10% does not qualify. We recommend keeping utilization comfortably below this threshold to reduce the risk of becoming ineligible.
  • Active account: the card must be active.
  • Order instructions: follow the instructions and dates for each order, including the agreed removal date.

You can keep using your card, including making purchases and applying for new credit, while an authorized-user order is active, as long as the account stays active and utilization stays below 10%.

What we review

  • Account opening date
  • Credit limit
  • Statement date
  • Current balance and utilization
  • Whether the account is active

Our review focuses on credit card statements and account eligibility. It is not a government-ID identity verification process.

What we don't ask for

We do not ask cardholders for:

  • Full credit card numbers
  • CVV codes or card PINs
  • Online banking or credit card login credentials, such as usernames and passwords
  • Social Security numbers, full or last four digits

Payout banking and tax information is handled through Paychex, which has its own requirements.

What disqualifies an account

  • The account is younger than 6 months.
  • The account has any late-payment or derogatory history, regardless of how old it is.
  • Utilization reaches 10% or higher.
  • The account is not active.
  • The account does not otherwise meet the eligibility requirements above.

If an account does not qualify

If an account does not pass review after an order comes in, we email and/or text the cardholder and explain the reason, such as account age, utilization, payment history or another eligibility requirement. We cancel the original order right away and arrange a replacement line. If no suitable replacement is available, the buyer receives a full refund.

If utilization reaches 10% or higher after an authorized user has been added, the order is canceled, and the buyer can choose a replacement line or a full refund.

Buyer remedies are described in our Refund Policy.

Your controls as a cardholder

  • Pricing is set by TradelineScore.
  • You can pause an individual available AU slot without deactivating your whole card.
  • You can deactivate your card listing. Active AU orders still follow their agreed requirements and removal dates.
  • You can update account information, such as your credit limit. Some changes need help from our support team when an AU is active on the account.
  • Pausing an available slot is different from removing an AU who already has an active order.

Cardholders are expected to fulfill orders received for their available AU slots and follow the instructions provided. If something prevents fulfillment, please contact our team promptly so we can help address the situation.

Adding the AU and getting paid

  • Adding the authorized user: TradelineScore emails and texts you when it is time to add the AU. Follow that order's instructions and dates. Keep the AU until the agreed removal date, not just until the line posts.
  • Payout: the stated seller payout is issued through Paychex after the purchased line is verified as posted and the order conditions are met. Listing a card does not guarantee an order or income.
