The Basics

What is a tradeline?

A tradeline refers to any account that appears on a consumer's credit report, such as a credit card, mortgage, auto loan, or line of credit. At Tradeline Score, the term typically refers to authorized user tradelines, where a person is added to an existing credit card account to be reported to the credit bureaus as an authorized user.

What do you do?

Tradeline Score is a tradeline marketplace connecting buyers with cardholders through the use of authorized users (AUs). Cardholders never share account access or card numbers — their information stays protected throughout the process.

How does this business work?

Tradeline Score connects individuals seeking to strengthen their credit profiles with cardholders who have well-maintained credit accounts, through a legal and widely recognized method known as authorized-user "piggybacking." Cardholders remain fully protected — authorized users never receive access to the credit card or account funds. See how the process works from a buyer's perspective, or visit our cardholder page for the seller side.

For Buyers

How long will the tradeline stay on my credit report?

Our standard posting duration is two billing cycles, approximately 60 days, though this can vary by seller. Exact duration is listed on each individual listing before purchase.

Do I get access to the credit card as an authorized user?

No. You're added as an authorized user in name only — you won't receive a card, login access, or any ability to use the account.

Is there a credit check or income requirement to buy a tradeline?

No credit check or income verification is required. You choose the tradeline you want, then complete identity verification and payment.

What is the escrow service, and how does it protect me?

Tradeline Score uses a third-party escrow service to keep transactions secure and transparent. Your payment is held in escrow and isn't released to the cardholder until the tradeline successfully posts to your credit report. If a tradeline doesn't post within the expected window, our Posting Guarantee Policy outlines reassignment or refund options.

What happens if the tradeline doesn't post?

Our Posting Guarantee Policy provides for reassignment to a comparable listing or a refund, depending on the circumstances. Posting depends on factors outside anyone's full control — issuer timing, bureau processing, and account-specific details — so we can't promise a specific outcome for every case, but every purchase is backed by this policy.

When will the tradeline appear on my credit report?

Most tradelines post within 7 to 15 business days after you're added to the account. See our timeline guide for what affects this window.

For Cardholders

How can I make money by selling spots on my credit cards?

If you have a credit card with a strong payment history, high limit, and low utilization, you may be able to earn income by offering an authorized-user slot. You retain full control of your card throughout — authorized users never get account access. Visit our cardholder page for the full picture, including realistic expectations.

Legal & Privacy

Is buying a tradeline legal?

Yes. Authorized user status is a standard practice, and credit bureaus routinely report authorized-user accounts under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. As with any financial arrangement, it's important to use tradelines transparently and ethically.

Is my personal information safe?

We take privacy and security seriously. Data is encrypted and handled in line with industry standards, and we never share your information with unauthorized third parties.

What are CPNs and SCNs? Why don't you work with them?

CPNs and SCNs are alternative identification numbers that mimic Social Security Numbers and have been linked to fraud. We only work with verified, real Social Security Numbers.
